Havel’s Leaving returns to Archa; in April it heads to Seoul
19.1.2010
On Monday, January 18, Václav Havel’s Leaving directed by David Radok will return to the Archa Theatre. After successfully presenting about 50 encore performances, all sell outs, Archa will stage twelve performances in January and February. The play, which was among the most eagerly anticipated premieres of 2008, again features Zuzana Stivínová and Jan Tříska in the lead roles. Dora Bouzková and Hana Vagnerová will alternate in the role of Bea in the winter series. Tickets to January and February performances are still available at the Archa Theatre box office.
The production will then head off to Seoul, Korea for its first ever foreign guest appearance. At the beginning of April, the Archa Theatre will stage Leaving three times at the LG Arts Center, which with its capacity and technical equipment is among the leading artistic centres in the world. Ondřej Hrab, the director of the Archa Theatre, had this to say about the upcoming engagement: “I am very proud that our play has become part of the spring season of the LG Arts Center next to the performance of 11 and 12 by Peter Brooke, Uncle Vanya by Lev Dodin and his Little Theatre from St. Petersburg, or today’s already classic works of contemporary dance Café Müller and The Rite of Spring by the late choreographer Pina Bausch. I have to say that seeing the words Archa, Havel and Leaving in Korean characters is itself an aesthetic experience.”
