Misunderstanding 68

Misunderstanding 68

16/6/2008 20:00 - Thematic evening to mark the fortieth anniversary of the revolutionary events of 1968

As part of the project 68/89 Art.Era.History, Archa Theatre is organising an evening devoted to events whose consequences we can still see today. The programme, in which music, film and theatre events are intertwined with expert debate, will focus on the year 1968 as a symbol of the 1960s, which brought revolt against convention in San Francisco, Paris, Berlin and Prague. What did the protagonists in these events have in common? Wasn’t it all just one big misunderstanding?

Alongside discussions with historians and witnesses, the evening will include a period hit-parade, fashion show, sit-it protest, surveys and film clips.

Guests: the political scientist Jacques Rupnik, Jiřina Šiklová, Zdeněk Pinc, Konstantýna Hlaváčková Jürgen Treulieb, Jürgen Danyel, Reiner Eckert, Michal Nejtek, Jiří Havelka and others. Evening presented by: Jaroslav Rudiš.

Concept and direction: Jana Svobodová
Dramaturgy: Tomáš Vrba, Ondřej Hrab, Stephan Kruhl
German production: Jürgen Danyel, Jennifer Schevardo
Featuring: Eva Hromníková, Jing Lu, Vlaďka Krčková, Cossiga, Freaky Jesus, secondary school and university students and others.
