Albert Einstein became a symbol of genius. Einstein’s theory of relativity, so often admired, doubted and misunderstood, became one of the basic pillars of modern physics. Based on it, on 16.7.1945 in the desert of Alamogordo in New Mexico, the first nuclear bomb was detonated. Albert was born in 1879 in the German town of Ulm into a Jewish family of a not very well-to-do entrepreneur, the owner of a small factory making electrical machines. In 1901 he published his first paper Conclusions Drawn from the Phenomena of Capillarity. Albert Einstein died in 1955. He does not have a grave; he requested that he be cremated and his ashes spread. Chemists named the element with atomic number 99 after him – Einsteinium.
