Tickets go on sale September 1, 2010 at the Archa Theatre box office and Ticketpro and Ticketportal outlets (subject to a booking fee).

The band is famous for their experimental and innovative approach as well as experi-ments with new media. The Residents are noted as the creators of the first music video in history. Their work is today featured in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. They were also one of the first to work with CD-rom (Freak Show).

The members of the band keep their identities secret. In the world of show business they use a unique image of a huge eyeball wearing a top hat. No one has yet been able to de-termine who is concealed behind the eyeball. The band is one of the best in the world, but they have never been interviewed, and none of its members have ever appeared in any music magazine. They have never made a single commercial compromise; neverthe-less, they are one of the best-known bands working in the frontiers between classical music, avant-garde and modern theatre art. Their unique live performances are a mix of musical and visual sensations.

In the past The Residents directed a multimedia theatre show in Prague called The Freak Show (Archa Theatre, 1995) and later in 1999 held three live concerts at Archa. The last time they performed in Prague was in November 2008. This year these highly secretive musicians return to Prague again with their new CD: The Talking Light.

The world tour, which will include the Prague concert, will also feature a retrospective exhibit entitled The Residents in the Galerii Caesar in Olomouc in October 2010, which will also feature the local band Už jsme doma. At a concert on 20.10.2010 in Olomouc’s Moravian Theatre they will play a song by The Residents, which will be sung by the The Residents’ singer “Randy”.
