VERTEDANCE - EMIGRANTES / CZECH DANCE PLATFORM

The Emigrantes project is connected with a long dramaturgical tradition at the Archa Theatre, which deals with the fates of people who find themselves in life crises. Emigrantes is the next performance in a series of projects by the VerTeDance group, in which, just as in previous projects “The Brave” and “Thirty-three Sunsets” adult and child dancers perform together on the stage. Emigrantes examines the phenomenon of refugees through the eyes of children.

Tereza Ondrová graduated from Prague's AMU, specializing in dance instruction.
Veronika Kotlíková graduated from the UK, specializing in primary education.
They are both professional choreographers and dancers. They have worked together with choreographers Lenka Ottová, Mirka Eliášová, Jan Kodet and others. Since 2003 they have been presenting their work, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Together with light designer Pavel Kotlík they founded the VerTeDance company. In 2005 they won a Sazka Award for dance with their project Tichomluva-neočekávaný chod.
Tereza Ondrová and Veronika Kotlíková were resident artists at Archa Theatre's Archa.lab in the 2008/2009 season. Under the auspices of the Archa.lab they created the Emigrantes project, which premiered at the Archa Theatre on January 7, 2010.
