archa.klub

On Monday, February 8 and Tuesday, February 9, Igor Malijevský’s and Jaroslav Rudiš’s EKG literary music show will be devoted to Love and Discoveries. The authors have invited to Prague’s Archa Theatre researcher and artist Vojtěch Kovařík as well as EKG’s literary discoveries. Monday will feature prose writer Hynek Trojánek, poet and prose writer Tereza Verecká, the mysterious Dancing Mirror and others. On Tuesday, poet and musician Ondřej Buddeus will be accompanied by guitarist Lukáš Kosek and pianist Filip Kotlář, prose writer Milan Dedera, Petr Koubek and others. Both evenings will conclude with acting, singing and dancing by the EMO girl group Audiofenky.

We asked the protagonists, why discoveries?
“I studied theoretical physics and it seems to me a shame not to share the results of my discoveries with the audience of EKG. Unfortunately, in Czech literature we are still neglecting dissertations dealing with the determinist chaos in the tokamak plasma. Narrative and humorous motifs are there too,” explains Malijevský.

“While writing my dissertation about German newspapers and magazines in Liberec I discovered a small treasure: several issues of a charming magazine called Incineration. It was published by the friends of the Liberec crematorium----maybe I’ll read some of it,” added Rudiš

ABOUT EKG

EKG is a literary musical show, which in collaboration with Archa Theatre has been headed by Igor Malijevský and Jaroslav Rudiš since the start of 2007. EKG is today the largest Czech scene for live literature and aims to cross over genres and generations. The protagonists are always on the border of literary reading, musical evening and theatrical cabaret; each show is a premiere and a final performance at the same time. Improvisation, communication with the audience and authorial recitals of new texts by contemporary Czech writers all feature prominently in the performance.

In Czech.

Do you want your writing to be read?
Igor Malijevský and Jaroslav Rudiš will be happy to read your prose samples (up to 1.5 standard pages - 2,700 characters with spaces) or 3 poems. E-mail your writing samples to ekg@archatheatre.cz and include "EKG: vyšetření" in the subject of the e-mail. Also provide brief information about yourself (name, age, telephone number, etc.)

Results:
The selected authors will be invited to a performance of EKG. The results of the reading are not objective and depend on personal taste, EKG's themes, and the weather.  Authors who are not contacted still have a reason to live!
